Castle Park Design Competition

Goram Homes and Bristol Housing Festival have announced Groupwork and McGregor Coxall as the winners of the Castle Park Design Competition! This competition has now closed.

Other shortlisted firms were Barton Willmore, BDP, Clifton Emery Design and Farrells London and Arup.

The shortlisted entries were chosen by our panel of judges from over 37 high calibre proposals from across the country. All entries were anonymised for the first round of judging.

This shortlisted group was then commissioned to develop their ideas further and this included an element of community engagement and feedback.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter the competition!

The context:

Goram Homes are a Bristol-based housing company. They build homes that create communities and are environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

Alongside the Energy Centre in Castle Park, Goram Homes are also set to deliver a number of homes on that site. They have an ambition for this site to be an exemplar of sustainability, and biodiversity while also helping the city to meet its housing needs.

In order to find the best ideas to meet these challenges, we hosted a design competition on behalf of Goram Homes looking for people with big, bold ideas, and the ability to work with Goram Homes to see this project completed.
