FIRMING FOUNDATIONS AND RAISING ROOFS | RACE, MIGRATION AND HOUSING

Join ACH and partners for:

'Firming Foundations and Raising Roofs: Race, migration and housing in Bristol and the West of England', a half-day conference exploring how we can work together at a city and regional level to forge an anti-racist housing landscape in Bristol and the wider region.

Over the course of an afternoon, we will hear from national and local industry sector leaders and changemakers, who will examine housing inequities faced by people of colour, as well as minoritized and newly arrived communities.

We will then consider solutions and next steps and finally celebrate achievements at a networking reception.

Topics for discussion include:

  • How can the housing sector facilitate greater consultation and inclusive engagement?

  • What can the sector do to build a representative workforce and support lived experience leadership?

  • How can the sector work together to take collective action to tackle institutional racism?

We would sincerely value your contribution and expertise as we come together to move forward, build on foundations to develop an action plan for real change. Book now to guarantee your place.

The event will be facilitated by ACH in partnership with BSWN, SARI, Bristol City Council’s One City Homes and Communities Board and the National Federation of Housing. It is supported through the Changemakers Project, a partnership between ACH, RAMP and Bristol City Council with funding from Comic Relief.

About ACH

Negative stereotypes and broken systems in the UK mean that 75% of refugees and migrants have no opportunities beyond low-paid, entry-level employment. ACH aims to redefine, recentre and rebuild this process to end the cycle of poverty.

Our vision is to empower refugees and migrants who reside in the UK to lead self-sufficient and ambitious lives. We believe that increased access to support, training and education creates spaces and opportunities for people to thrive.

ACH is a social enterprise comprised of a diverse group of strategists and researchers led by lived experience. We provide tailored integration services that not only help individuals, but also disrupt the systems that have entrenched inequalities in our society. We have a track record of delivering effective support services that give refugees and migrants the tools they need to succeed.
